Hey lil fighter, soon it'll be brighter.

This june, i braved through it all.

My palms are 100% sweat-free now (inserts 1 million exclamation marks). Not only my palms, the condition of my forehead, underarms and feet improved as well. O.M.G!!! The surgery wounds are basically as fine as a pencil line now under both my armpit region, all thanks to the mom who controlled my diet - no eggs no seafood no dark soya sauce and all those food deemed "poisonous" in chinese term. The stitches (3 on each side), which i just removed them on thursday, are looking like bite marks now will heal in another 1-2 weeks time. I do experience the side effect of compensatory sweating as i perspire alil more on my back and thigh areas but i'm cool about it and definitely perfectly fine living with it! Everything's well now except  for some discomfort at my chest area whenever i sneeze, cough or yawn but the doc mentioned this is normal during the post-surgery period due to the anaesthesia and i can't exercise for the time being. I can't find the right words to describe the whole process. The part where i was put to sleep on anaesthesia felt the scariest. All i remembered was being pushed to the op theater at 0750, the last look i had at the clock was 0825 and mom waited for me for a good 5.5+ hr outside the theater before they sent me back to the ward at 1330. I've to say i've got a pretty high threshold of pain but it feels like a whole different thing if you were to compare the kind of pain you suffered from a cut, from a fall, or even putting on braces. I'm very thankful for my parents. They couldn't sleep for that few nights, rushed to and fro, my mom didn't eat a single thing from the morning of surgery till dinner time as if she's going for surgery too haha (i went on w/o food & water for like 20 hrs), and all the well-wishes from friends and readers here. Oh, no thanks to ty who wasn't with me throughout the process.

The surgery was a success, & i couldn't be more thankful.

  3. Hi, Juan
I came across your blog as I was researching some other possible side effects of sweaty palms. I feel like we both have experienced the same things since I am a HH patient too, my papers getting wet, socially awkwardness and visiting homes during Chinese New Year is a pain with all that interaction so I have decided to undergo the surgery too at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, I am actually very scared because it's like my first surgery ever but I really hope you can enlighten me with your experiences such as how many needles were injected into you because from one of the pictures the yellow one looks super painful and how are the results of the surgery till now? I have been through what you have been through as a patient of HH, I honestly think that HH patients are truly strong by heart because they have a tough life to deal with.

  4. Hello there! I'm glad you have decided to go for the surgery! I hope it'll become one of the best decision you've made in your life (just like me, hehe!).

Yes, the yellow needle in my post was truly the pain in the ass. This yellow needle was the 2nd needle being injected before the surgery for drips. But i had a total of 4 injections because they tried injecting twice at my left hand at first but couldn't find my veins. So they re-do it on my right hand argh.
I thought it could be removed after the surgery once i requested to stop the drip since i was able to eat normally. But i was wrong! I even slept with it (couldn't move my right hand the whole night) because every few hours the nurse will inject antibiotics plus some other medicine thru this main needle. They claimed it was better to leave it there instead of re-poking during every single medicine intake. The whole area was swollen and numb. The next morning i begged the nurse to remove it for me a few hrs before i was discharged. The blue-black actually lasted for like a week and there is like a little mark at the area till now.

I wish you all the best!

  5. I'm back! On a scale of 1 to 10 how much pain had you had to go through and another thing, when you're in the surgery room right, are you like completely exposed to the doctors? Who dresses you after the surgery? Lastly, are your hands still dry?

Sorry for the weird questions! It's just so much things are going through my head with all the negative side effects and stuff.

  7. Sorry for the really late reply as i wasn't that active on blogger recently!

Not sure if you've went thru the surgery alr but yes, my thigh areas do sweat now but bearable for sure. Hmm about 6? I have high threshold of pain. I was on anaesthesia so i guess i was exposed there after during the surgery hahaha. I bathed and dressed myself actually in the hosp. Way too shy to let the nurses do it for me, but my mom was ard to help if i need her.

Yes, it has been almost 3 months and my palms are still dry!

    2. Good to hear that! I get this feeling too omg! Whenever the weather's too humid i'll get this strange feeling that my palms are gna sweat but in fact it didn't. I guess we can't get away with this since we are born with sweaty palms in the first place. Just try not to think of it!

    1. I did, my hands are definitely not as bad as before but I get this really really really soft moisture on my hands? It feels exactly the same when sweat comes out of my hands before surgery, the sensation's the same. My feet sweating got worse though, I wore slippers to badminton and it was drenched, I even slipped and fell.

    1. I'm all good after the surgery except compensatory sweating. I must be real lucky! Think through thoroughly dear. If your condition is as bad as mine i think it's worth the try.

    2. Thanks for your quick reply and concern! Good to hear that ur fine :) Yep, I have thought through thoroughly and researched for more than a few years and have tried all the different treatments(tcm, antiperspirant, iontophoresis) to no avail as my hands sweat way too much to the extent of dripping that my life has been affected so much by it so I would be going for the surgery!

  17. Hey I just stumbled upon your blog and have a few questions which I hope you can answer :) I have a similar condition too, very bad sweaty palms along with sweaty feet, and am considering the surgery later on this year since it's really affecting me quite badly.

Can I just check with you how long were you hospitalised for? And you mentioned that your sweatiness in other area like your feet also improved, are they also completely cured? Also, how long was it after the surgery before you resumed normal life (like doing exercise, no more discomfort etc...)?

Thanks a lot in advance :)

    1. Hi Anon, i'm really sorry for missing out your cmnt here. I was discharged the next day after my surgery actually! My feet are not completely cured (i guess i can't be too greedy thou) but my palms are!

I started exercising like 2 weeks after the surgery cause i am that stubborn haha. I was told not to exercise for at least a few mths, but oh well i guess i have pretty high threshold of pain and i took the surgery lightly! You're welcome dear!

  18. Hello! I just did the surgery about 2 weeks ago. But I realised that now I can't sweat above my chest area. Do you also have this problem?
